Joseph J Clark is delighted to bring Drunk With A Pen back to Brighton Fringe for 2019.
Running for 6 nights at The Warren, the unofficial home of the Fringe, Drunk With A Pen will be another raw, emotional and hilarious 13 and a half poems about drink and drinking.
Featuring a support set from David Attree.
"Clark commands attention from the get-go." **** Broadway Baby @ Fringe '18
"Doing the spoken word genre proud." **** Voice Mag @ Fringe '18
"You're fucking great, mate." King Size Slim @ Songs & Stories
Earnest, endearing and occasionally exciting stories from the very bottom of the bottle: this is poetry for the drinking classes.
Featuring new work for 2019 as well as older favourites including the moving 'Eulogy of Empty Words', the thoughtful 'War Stories', and the one about rum that the pub crowds like.
"Joseph J. Clark’s ‘pub crawl of poems’ analogy was indeed what he set out for it to be; a simultaneous condemnation and celebration of the effects of drinking, starting pleasantly, getting a bit weepy in the middle and ending up joyfully singing to a lamp post."
Kerry Williams - Voice Mag
Show duration: one hour. Prompt start at 9.15pm.
